Garage Base & Slab Base
“A building is only as good as its foundation”.
As a minimum requirement a garage base & slab base has to be “Flat, Level and Firm”.
For concrete sectional garages a concrete base is essential. – quotations are given on a individual basis.
Ideally a base should always be properly prepared with paving slabs. We use Natural grey 600mm x 600mm x 37mm slabs and we also lay stone circles and other types of paving dependant on customer requirements and can lay “French Drains”. (Gravel traps for drainage)
Traditional “Panel type construction” buildings are sold in imperial sizes. Due to the way they are made the floors are slightly smaller than the building so that an equivalently sized metric base is of sufficient size. For example a 8ft x 6ft shed fits onto a 2.4m x 1.8m metric base.
Pressure treated bearers can be ordered with your building, and are used to help eliminate any small deviation in “Level” and to “Lift” the building clear of the ground to avoid damp and to prolong the life expectancy of your building.
Laying a slab base is a professional job.

This one wasn’t suitable and had to be re-laid before the building could be erected.
Bentleys Garden Buildings provide a professional service.
Here are some examples of bases we have laid.

The prices listed below are an indication of cost (based on past experience) and are subject to variation (up or down) dependant on each individual location. To arrive at a costing we assume that the area to be slabbed is reasonably flat and level, clear of any shrubs, trees or debris, and there is reasonable access. Turf (if laid) is “lifted” using a “Turf Cutter” and is Now Free of Charge.)
A site survey will be carried out and a quotation given prior to order acceptance.
Prices include all materials and VAT @20%.
